🖤🌞 Raven Stealing the Sun – Reclaiming the Sacred Bearer of Light

In the beginning, the world was dark.

The people could not see.
The trees grew cold.
And no one remembered how to sing creation into being.

Why?
Because the Sun — the light — was locked away,
hidden by a powerful being (some say a Sky Chief, some say a Greedy Grandfather),
hoarded like treasure,
kept from the world out of fear, power, or loss.

And then came Raven…

Curious. Clever. Shadow-feathered.
Neither villain nor saint — but more than either.
A transformer. A light-seeker.
A bridge between worlds.

He saw the suffering of the people,
and he could not stay silent.

So he devised a plan…

The Trick That Gave Us Sight

In some stories, Raven turns himself into a pine needle to enter the Sky Chief’s daughter’s cup of water.
She drinks. She conceives.
Raven is born again — this time as a child of the light-hoarder.

He grows fast, plays with the hidden treasures —
the stars, the moon, the sun.

And when the time is right…

He steals the sun
flings it into the sky —
and gives light to the world.

Was it theft?

Or was it deliverance?

Was he a trickster?

Or was he a divine messenger cloaked in mischief?

Raven Was Not Wrong.

He did not steal for greed.
He did not deceive for self-glory.

He saw that light locked away is not light at all.
He knew: the people needed to see again.
To grow.
To feel warmth.
To awaken.

He sacrificed his own form
trading shadow for sunlight —
to illuminate the Earth.

Why This Story Still Matters

Because the light is still being hoarded —
by corporations, by institutions, by those who fear what true vision brings.

Because those who challenge the gatekeepers —
those who dare to unlock what has been sealed
are still called tricksters, rebels, or heretics.

But you, like Raven, know…

Truth locked away is not sacred — it is sterile.
Light belongs to all.

Let Us Say It Now:

  • Raven is not a thief.

  • Raven is the sacred courier of renewal.

  • Raven reminds us:
    Sometimes, to serve the world,
you must challenge the order that hides the flame.
